My 'Bloom Girls' are possibly my most iconic pieces (you might recognise them as the big black and white floral nudes). They began in 2017, as a sketch on a plane home from Paris, after an incident that challenged what it meant to me to be a woman in today's society.

'Bloom Girl No. 1' was a piece I created in honour of women everywhere. It is my favourite image from the entire series.

To me she seems fragile, but defensive. Beautiful, but raw. I filled her eyes with flowers for all the lovers she couldn’t see past, and to protect her from those who couldn't see all that she is.

Since her introduction at my debut solo show, I've expanded the series to include more 'Bloom Girls.' I try to shoot women- muses- I admire for their ability to somehow be strong, and soft, all at once.

In 2022, I'll be debuting a new Bloom Girl exhibition featuring Bloom Girls from all over the world.
